2024 Ford Mustang gets new color and SVT Cobra gauges for new model year » CAR PURCHASE » Car-Revs-Daily.com

The Ford Mustang is celebrating its 60th birthday and the company is doing everything it can to make the birthday party full of thrills and goosebumps, including giving prospective Mustang owners plenty of party favors at the unveiling of the new Mustang. the 2024 Mustang 60th Anniversary model on the streets of Woodward, which not only gets a new color, but also a visual homage to the legendary SVT Cobra.

SVT Cobra gauges are a tribute to the Mustangs of the 1990s

One of the biggest changes Mustang buyers will notice are the new SVT Cobra gauges now available in the digital instrument cluster. These gauges are clones of the gauges used on the 1999-2001 Cobra models, with those models receiving a white dial and black numbers while other Cobra models had only minor changes. The gauges will be part of an available Over The Air Update package and will be available to all Mustang owners. These gauges are based on other retro gauges the company has released, including ones that mimic the 1980s Fox body model as well as the 1967 original.

Special digital treats like this were a central part of the Mustang’s 60th anniversary celebrations, and Ford is expected to launch even more surprises as the year comes to a close.

Brittany Blue gives the Mustang mix a new color

In addition to the fancy ads, Ford also confirmed that Brittany Blue will be added to the color pool in 2024. Unlike the ads, this color is exclusive to 60th anniversary models and will be used only rarely. The company said the shade will only be used on a small percentage of the 1,965 production units that will receive the 60th anniversary treatment.

This rarity may also explain why the company forces buyers to go through an application process to get a chance at a Brittany Blue Mustang. While there aren’t as many hurdles to overcome as with GTD homologation, Ford will likely still be selective about who gets the honor of using Brittany Blue on their Mustang model.

When can I buy one?

Ford will open the application process for the Brittany Blue color starting August 16, before the registration period ends on August 19. The 60th Anniversary models themselves are now shipping to dealers, with buyers able to choose between a coupe and a convertible. They will have to pay a small premium, however, as the base 60th Anniversary model starts at $65,245, $1,000 more than the much more powerful Dark Horse model.
