2025 6’10 Caden Giles (Flight 22) talks about new offer from Milwaukee and other interests

In 2022, Caden Giles was a player that caught my eye with his mix of size and play in the Queen City Phenom. Back then, he showed flair and feel, used his size well, and was able to create an effective scoring opportunity. However, Giles has continued to work hard, and now that he’s part of the class of 2025, he’s attracting even more attention in his own way. We had him at our South Carolina Top 80 Camp, where we had this to say about his game:

“He is a big, mobile post player with a great combination of intelligence, ball sense and inside-out scoring skills. Giles finishes well around the basket and above the rim, but also sinks good shots from mid-range and beyond the arc. He holds his block assignment well, varies shots as a help-side defender and runs the court well in transition. Giles also secures a consistent rate of rebounds on both sides of the ball. Coach Burnette on Giles: “Caden is a good post player. Shows a good understanding of the game. He scores well on the block, but needs to work on expanding his range of motion with his back to the basket. Caden has good shooting technique from distance.” Giles did a lot of things well in camp and should be a target for various types of programs in his final season.”

Phenom reached out to Giles shortly after his offer from Milwaukee to hear more about his thoughts, what they had to say, if he plans to visit soon and what other schools have shown interest in him. Check out what he had to say.

Phenom: How has this summer been for you and your game?
Giles: Things went well this summer playing on the 3SSB tour. I’ve talked to players at all levels after this summer. I feel like my game has improved a lot, I’ve developed my perimeter game. I’ve improved my shooting technique, playing on the wing and getting to the basket. My post-up has continued to improve as I’m now facing up and not always playing with my back to the basket.

Phenom: How did it feel to get the offer from Milwaukee? What did they say about your offer?
Giles: It was just great to get that offer from Milwaukee. Everyone is happy to get any offer, but getting an offer from Division 1 is a great feeling. They wanted me to come over and thought I could be a good fit for the team because of the way I play.

Phenom: What do you know about her?
Giles: I know it’s a successful program and the coaching staff is great.

Phenom: Do you have any visit plans or anything else planned?
Giles: I’m going to visit Milwaukee. I haven’t 100% set a date yet, but I’m going.

Phenom: Are there other schools that are actively recruiting you or showing interest in you?
Giles: I would say I hear mostly from UNC-Asheville, Richmond, Davidson, Cornell and Mercyhurst.

Phenom: Overall, what did they tell you?
Giles: They talked to me and built a relationship with me. They tried to find out more about me and tell me about themselves and their school. I plan to hopefully visit those schools as well.
