1.UGA plans to create more parking spaces to meet increasing demand

The University of Georgia plans to create around 1,300 new parking spaces on campus by fall 2025. West Campus Parking Deck II will have 1,097 parking spaces near the West Campus residence halls and the new West Campus Dining, Learning and Well-being Center.

2. UGA hosts annual Freshman Welcome at Sanford Stadium

UGA hosted its annual Freshman Welcome on Tuesday night at Sanford Stadium. The event greeted the new freshmen students with free food, merchandise and the formation of the traditional “Power G.”

3. Everything you need to know about ACC Transit

The Athens-Clarke County Government Transportation Authority provides service to nearly 750,000 passengers annually, consisting of curb-to-curb scheduled service and paratransit service. This free, all-inclusive service is offered Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. It is also available on weekends from 7:00 a.m. to 9:45 p.m.

5. Athens Rock Lobsters ready to rock: Hockey debut planned in the new Classic Center Arena

This fall, Athens sports history will take an exciting “next step” when the Athens Rock Lobsters, a professional hockey team, grace the ice at Classic Center Arena. The team is named after the song “Rock Lobster” by Athens band The B-52’s.
