Teaser for the second season of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians”, cast of the “Gray Sisters”

Percy Jackson and the Olympians has begun filming its second season, but the stars took a break to appear at Disney’s D23 fan event on Saturday – where they revealed that some new actors will be joining the cast.

Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri and Leah Sava Jeffries took the stage alongside series regulars Charlie Bushnell and Dior Goodjohn, as well as new cast member Daniel Diemer, who will play the Cyclops Tyson in season two. The cast offered a sneak peek at the upcoming season (see below) – including Percy (Scobell) taking the reins of a chariot – and announced some new additions to the cast.

Sandra Bernhard, Kristen Schaal and Margaret Cho will guest star as the Gray Sisters, who run a taxi service (also known as the Chariot of Damnation) and share an eye and a tooth. Bernhard plays Anger, who is in charge of collecting passengers and impatiently awaits her turn to use the eye. Schaal plays Tempest, who currently has the eye and uses it to observe the heroes, predict their futures – and tease them about their social lives. Cho plays Wasp, the lead driver of the taxi that takes the demigods on a wild ride to Camp Half-Blood.

Season two of the series is based on Under the spell of the Cyclopsthe second book in the Percy Jackson series by author (and series co-creator/executive producer) Rick Riordan. Percy returns to Camp Half-Blood a year after the events of the first season to find his world turned upside down. His friendship with Annabeth (Jeffries) changes, he learns he has a cyclops brother, Grover (Simhadri) has disappeared, and the camp is under siege by the forces of Kronos. Percy’s journey to set things right takes him off the map and into the deadly Sea of ​​Monsters, where a secret destiny awaits him.

Riordan is an executive producer of the second season along with showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, Rebecca Riordan, Craig Silverstein, Bert Salke, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein of the Gotham Group, Jeremy Bell and DJ Goldberg, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Albert Kim, Jason Ensler and Sarah Watson.
