Plot summary:

A geography teacher named Alberto Alvarez, who organized a public, island-wide treasure hunt for the golden compass he commissioned, spawned several treasure hunters.

Max is also interested in puzzles and tries to solve the clues, but he and Miranda are called into action when the teacher is kidnapped.

The kidnappers demand the treasure in exchange for Alberto’s life. Max wants to solve the clues, while Miranda prefers to do old-fashioned police work.

Max also has to cope with the presence of his father, who visits him in Mallorca and criticizes his decisions.

Later, Alberto’s body is found and the prime suspects are his son and daughter. Max and Miranda discover that Alberto staged a test to find out which of his children would be faithful to him.

His daughter became too greedy due to her money problems and killed him, but was eventually caught by investigators.

During a charity event, the wife of a wealthy aristocrat is killed and the blame is placed on a street vendor.

Max and Miranda are asked to investigate this aspect, but in the eyes of the public it develops into a conflict between rich and poor.

Max is the more optimistic of the two and wants to believe that the street vendor is being trapped.

They later learn that the victim discovered that her in-laws had acquired their wealth illegally and was convicted.

After piecing together the clues, Max and Miranda arrest the right suspects and solve another case.

Max cannot do without an important piece of information from Carmen’s father: Carmen tells him that she has received a job offer in Madrid and asks Max to move there with her.

Inspector Blanco from Madrid comes to Mallorca to arrest the notorious fraudster Ramon Silva.

He asks Miranda and Max to go undercover as a married couple and fall victim to Ramon’s real estate scam in order to catch him red-handed.

They put on a good show and the plan goes smoothly until Max realizes they’ve been tricked.

Blanco is also an imposter who works with Ramon, so Max and Miranda go on the hunt for them.

Ines knew about it and conducted a secret operation to capture them, but the plan was almost ruined when Max and Miranda found out the truth.

Carmen moves to Madrid and Max stays behind because they are unsure about their future together.

When a police informant escapes during a prison transport, Miranda and Max must reluctantly team up with Inspector Benito Mancuso from Barcelona to track him down.

This leads to the arrest of a major crime boss and Miranda and Mancuso grow closer after having been at loggerheads from the start.

According to Miranda, Max sees the two kissing, but it is only a brief romance. After a botched smuggling raid, Max and Miranda are punished with a minor case.

You have to go undercover at a luxury resort and catch a room thief who is stealing from the guests.

Max finds out that the thief is the son of a co-worker who only wanted a better life for his mother.

Meanwhile, Miranda has doubts about another employee, which leads them to track down the smuggler they previously overlooked.

Miranda has to go on vacation and Mancuso returns to follow up on some information the informant gave him.

A body is washed ashore and investigators suspect that there is a women-only island retreat nearby.

Miranda decides to go there and investigate on her own. Max and Mancuso arrive just in time to save her after she finds out the truth.

Mancuso returns to Barcelona and Miranda’s perspectives change after her experiences at the retreat.

Explanation at the end:

Not the real case

Miranda and Max are assigned to investigate a missing journalist and learn that she was supposed to interview a local billionaire and eco-activist.

The billionaire is hosting an event to raise awareness of his cause, and the journalist is following his son because he has met with a known eco-terrorist.

She tells Mac and Miranda that an assassin named “The Judge” is in Mallorca who will commit a murder during the event.

Interpol is called in and takes over the lead of the investigation with an old colleague of Miranda.

They don’t believe the threat is real, but they don’t want to take any risks.

Pushed aside

Miranda tries to warn the journalist that she is a target because she is close to the truth, but that is not enough and the journalist and her source are killed.

Interpol steps in and takes over the case, pushing Max and Miranda aside. They get into an argument about their different motives and say some very mean things.

Interpol discovers the whereabouts of the assassin and hatches a plan to catch him. Max and Miranda are assigned to act as security at the event while the action takes place elsewhere.

Finish the job

The assassin is killed, but Max and Miranda discover that he was working with an accomplice who is at the venue.

The billionaire’s son mentioned that they wanted to create a little drama as a publicity stunt, but his father thwarted the plan.

The second assassin was supposed to kill a movie star and make her a martyr for the billionaire’s cause.

Max and Miranda successfully stop them and receive praise from Interpol for their help.

They reconcile and admit that they don’t want to be anywhere else and don’t want to have anyone else as a partner.
