Mike Tyson recovers from an in-flight medical emergency.
A spokesperson for the 57-year-old professional boxer told PEOPLE on Monday, May 27, “Fortunately, Mr. Tyson is doing well” after “becoming nauseous and dizzy due to a stomach ulcer 30 minutes before landing.”
βHe is grateful to the medical staff who helped him,β the statement continued.
Per In contact, The athlete was on board an American Airlines flight from Miami to Los Angeles when the incident occurred.
During the flight, a doctor was called and paramedics reportedly boarded the plane to assist Tyson.
According to Tyson’s representatives, the flight was delayed two hours before takeoff because of “a problem with the air conditioning on the plane” – his health was not a factor in the delay.

A boxing match between him and Jake Paul is currently scheduled to air live on Netflix from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Sunday, July 20.
