Leicester City have made a £23.2m bid for Panathinaikos striker Fotis Ioannidis despite competition from Sporting Lisbon.

The Foxes are also still in talks about a possible loan of Wilfried Zaha from Galatasaray.

The 24-year-old Greek international Ioannidis scored five goals in six Europa League games for Panathinaikos last season.

Meanwhile, 31-year-old former Crystal Palace and Man United winger Zaha has scored one goal and provided one assist in six Champions League appearances.

Palace, Wolves and West Ham are also said to have shown interest in Zaha this summer. A return to the Premier League, where he previously scored 68 goals in 305 games, is very likely.

Leicester are also interested in signing Wilfried Zaha, 31, from Galatasaray on loan this summer

Leicester won the EFL Championship last season, topping the table with 97 points after scoring 89 goals.

But the 2016 English champions have had a rather disappointing summer so far.

Leicester not only lost coach Enzo Maresca and star midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea, but also lost their last three pre-season friendlies against Palermo, Augsburg and Lens.

Under the leadership of Steve Cooper, Leicester will now return to the English top league next Monday with a home game against Tottenham.
