Rappler press conference after appeals court overturns 2018 shutdown order

MANILA, Philippines – Rappler CEO Maria Ressa and senior lawyer Francis Lim held a press conference on Friday, August 9, after the Court of Appeals (CA) overturned the 2018 order of the Duterte-led Securities and Exchange Commission to shut down Rappler.

In a statement, Rappler said the CA’s ruling was “redress after eight agonizing years of harassment.”
