PITTSBURGH, Pa. (KDKA) – A young girl hosting a benefit concert to raise money for police got a big surprise Friday night when the show’s headliner announced he had purchased a police dog for the Tarentum Police Department.

All this happened at a benefit concert organized by 12-year-old Kaley Bastinea girl from Harrison Township who has made it her mission to raise money for local police departments.

Kaley has raised $70,000 for the police over the past six years and was hoping to raise $100,000 with Friday’s concert – with the main goal of helping the Tarentum police purchase a police dog.

During the concert, the show’s headliner, Brian Kelley, formerly of Florida Georgia Line, announced that he purchased the K9 for the department as a surprise for Kaley.

All the money Kaley raised at the concert will now be used to purchase supplies for the K9 unit.

The Tarentum division merged with Brackenridge after Chief Justin McIntire was murdered early last year.

To Kaley, he was not just any cop and she is helping to honor him and do her part to protect the community.
