(BPRW) LTYC Celebrates Monumental Achievement for Its True Support: A Celebration and Support System for Women of Color

(Black PR wire) Baltimore, Maryland – The Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center (LTYC) is enjoying the belated excitement of the monumental success of its 3rd Anniversary Black Leading Women’s Celebration: Honoring the Impact of Rising Stars and Shining Legacies. This event, a testament to LTYC’s unwavering commitment to integrating the arts into education and honoring Black women who are breaking barriers and shattering glass ceilings, has had a profound impact on our community. It is the shared celebration of empowerment and support from our community that made this event a true success.

LTYC, a Baltimore-based nonprofit whose reach extends to Washington, DC, Baltimore County, Prince George’s County, and the Hampton Roads area – with its remarkable concentration of women leaders – didn’t want to simply plan a random event. The organization was deeply committed to supporting missions that create impact and uplift. This conscious commitment, evident in the careful planning and execution of the event, is a clear testament to their dedication and unwavering belief in the power of women of color in leadership.

Lauren Blackwell, LTYC Chief of Staff and event host, says, “I see firsthand the importance of self-discovery as I mentor 146 school and organizational partners across nine school systems. I understand that as we get older, stimulating and positive interaction is even more necessary – that our Black female leaders need positive recognition and support at every age.”

Each honoree’s contribution was highlighted through special marketing campaigns to ensure their impact was felt beyond the immediate invited audience. The event was also supported by LTYC’s own budget. Dr. Dermell Brunson, President of LTYC, says, “With this event, the organization demonstrates that we not only promote and support women in our community, but we do so by investing in this celebration to tell their stories of success and achievement.”

The resounding success of the 3rd Annual Black Leading Women’s Celebration brought together and honored distinguished Black female leaders who are nationally and locally known, such as Nykidra Robinson, CEO of Black Girls Vote, Shelonda Stokes, CEO of Downtown Partnership, who captivated audiences with their profound perspectives and experiences, and April Watts, a multimedia personality.

Nicole Kirby, CEO of CarVer Communications and project manager for the LTYC’s annual Leading Black Women events, noted, “This event offers great food and networking opportunities, but at its core, it is a living movement. Each selected leader is celebrated and fully promoted during the event, amplifying their work and impact. This strategic approach has sparked interest from numerous organizations eager to partner with the LTYC and signals a shift in the way Black female leaders are recognized and honored.”

LTYC’s arts programs exist in communities throughout Maryland and DC. They intend to actively engage and support any leadership and growth effort in communities of color.

The Black Leading Women’s event will continue to be a highlight for the organization each year, providing valuable insight into leadership and empowerment. Because the intent of this event is so important and important, the committee will begin confirming next year’s honorees in the next few months. The announcement of the 2025 honorees will be made on the LTYC website in December 2024. Our Leadership – LTYC | Awakening the Arts in Education

The annual celebration has quickly become a transformative force, setting new standards for recognizing and supporting the important leadership roles of Black women.
