McFarlane Deluxe Dark Knight Returns, Huntress, GL Pre-Orders – Comic Adaptations and Superhero Movie News

As revealed at Comic-Con, McFarlane ToysThe deluxe version of “Dark Knight Returns Batman” can be pre-ordered starting this Friday, August 16. And he brings along a few allies from the Collector Edition.

Miller era

Batman is the clear highlight here and will likely go quickly despite the many Dark Knight Returns figures that have preceded him. He has battle damage, interchangeable heads with and without masks, multiple hands and a Batarang, and also includes a large street lamp for display underneath. Some of McFarlane’s deluxe figures don’t always seem worth the extra cost, but this one certainly is.

At the same time, Green Lantern is also available for pre-order. Which one? Well, that’s complicated. It’s a body with two possible heads: Tomar-Re and Abin Sur. Both are included; you decide which one you want to portray him as. Or, as McFarlane would probably prefer, buy two. Four extra hands and four extra accessories are included. They’re based on comics, but look closely at Abin Sur and you’ll notice he bears no resemblance to Temuera Morrison in the film.

New 52 Huntress has more to offer than you’d expect: a fabric cape, three different face sculpts—hopefully that’s the worst one in the picture—and her signature crossbow, which Warner Bros. thankfully has no problems with like they do with firearms. As you might also have guessed, there will be four extra hands.

Expect pre-orders at all your favorite online outlets, with an expected price in the $30-$40 range.

McFarlane’s Collector Edition line seems to be a way to spread the cost across the line, keeping some of the base figures at $20 while adding bonuses to others to make the extra cost worth it. As an added bonus, Green Lantern’s body can and will be reused for other characters later on.

Collectors, start pre-ordering…
