Wale Brings Every Blue Moon Tour to Phoenix

Especially for independent news media

Wale will bring his Every Blue Moon Tour to Phoenix this fall.

The rapper will perform at The Van Buren on Sunday, October 27th.

The 32-city tour begins in Fort Lauderdale in September and ends in Birmingham at the Iron City in November. In addition to covers of classics from his repertoire, Wale will also play new music from his upcoming, as yet unannounced eighth album, which is set to be released this fall on Def Jam Recordings.

This year also marks the 15th anniversary of the release of his debut album “Attention Deficit”.

Tickets go on sale for individual artists on Tuesday, August 13th, with additional presales running throughout the week before the general sale begins at 10am on Friday, August 16th on LiveNation.com.

Since the release of his breakthrough project “A Mixtape About Nothing” in 2008, the DC rhymer has appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned platinum and gold plaques.

His last album “Folarin II” was a sequel to the 2012 mixtape “Folarin”.

Wale was born Olubowale Victor Akintimehin to Nigerian immigrants and raised in Washington, D.C. After graduating from Quince Orchard High School in 2002, he attended Robert Morris University and Virginia State University on a football scholarship before transferring to Bowie State University.

He soon gave up education to pursue a rap career; “Dig Dug (Shake It)” became his first local hit upon its release in 2006. That same year, he was featured in The Source’s Unsigned Hype Column.

“My goal was simply to be successful and stay true to what I want to do,” he said in a press release.

He resurfaced in 2023 with a new deal with Def Jam, a feature on Odumodublvck’s “Blood On The Dance Floor,” which stayed at No. 1 in Nigeria for eight weeks, a headlining show at DC’s Kennedy Center for the first time to mark the 10-year anniversary of his album “The Gifted,” and his first diamond record for the Waka Flocka collaboration “No Hands.”
