Singapore Airlines increases flight frequencies and passenger capacity to popular destinations in the 2025 northern summer season: What you need to know?

Singapore Airlines (SIA) will increase flight frequencies and boost passenger capacity across its network during the 2025 Northern Summer operating season (30 March 2025 to 25 October 2025) to meet increased demand for air travel to several popular destinations.

From 30 March 2025, SIA will offer a daily service to London (Gatwick), in addition to the current five weekly connections.

Together with the four daily flights to London (Heathrow), the airline now has five daily connections to the British capital.

Connections to Rome will be increased from the current four weekly flights to five weekly flights between 26 June 2025 and 28 August 2025.

SIA will discontinue its thrice-weekly Singapore-Milan-Barcelona flights from June 24, 2025 to September 7, 2025 and offer more direct flights between Singapore and the two European cities.

During this period, the airline will offer direct flights to Barcelona five times a week (currently two flights per week). Milan will be served daily (currently four times a week).

During the 2024 Northern Winter and 2025 Northern Summer seasons, the number of flights to Adelaide will increase to ten weekly flights, up from the current seven weekly services.

Frequencies to Ho Chi Minh City will be increased from 19 times a week to three times a day, and connections to Siem Reap will be increased from once a day to twice a day.

A three-times-weekly service to Johannesburg will be established from 11 December 2024 to 10 January 2025 and from 2 April 2025 to 24 October 2025. This will increase the total number of flights to the city during these periods to ten times a week, compared to the current daily services.

The Airbus A380 will return to Tokyo (Narita) on one of its two daily services between 30 March 2025 and 31 May 2025, replacing the Boeing 787-10.

The A380 will no longer be used to Delhi from 28 July 2025 to 31 August 2025 and from 23 June 2025 to 27 July 2025 and will be replaced by the Boeing 777-300ER.

As part of its capacity adjustments, SIA will discontinue flights to Houston via Manchester from April 1, 2025.

However, SIA will continue to offer five weekly connections between Singapore and Manchester via SQ302 and SQ301.

Dai Haoyu, acting Senior Vice President Marketing Planning at Singapore Airlines, said: “Singapore Airlines regularly reviews our network and routes to adjust our capacity to meet demand.

By making these adjustments ahead of next summer, we are responding to increased demand for multiple destinations, particularly during the traditional mid-year peak travel season, and enabling our customers to plan their travel plans for 2025 with confidence.

We look forward to connecting our customers to the world through SIA’s extensive network and offering them an unparalleled travel experience.”
