Nashville Sounds lose to Durham Bulls 8-3 – Clarksville Online

The sounds of NashvilleDurham, North Carolina – The Nashville Sounds (60-54, 22-17) fell behind in the first innings and were unable to mount a comeback in an 8-3 loss to the Durham Bulls (54-61, 18-22) at Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Tuesday night.

Durham took a two-run lead in the first, but Patrick Dorrian provided an answer in the second. With two down, the left-hander hit a fastball over the seats and into the right-field bleachers. His second home run of the season flew 392 feet and tied the game at 2-2.

Nick Schnell put the Bulls back in the lead by hitting a 418-foot solo shot against the Sounds starter Taylor Clarke (2-4) in the second inning. Durham chased Clarke out of the game in the fourth inning. The former Royals relief pitcher allowed five runs (all earned) on seven hits in the loss.

The police barrage continued against Evan McKendry. Durham welcomed the reliever with four hits and three runs in 1.1 innings. Blake Holub got the last out in the fifth, but at that point the deficit was 8-2.



Rob Zastryzny made a brief appearance in an MLB rehab assignment, but left the team after facing just three batters. He allowed a walk and a hit and got one out in the sixth inning. Garrett Stallings And Tyler Jay Together, they managed to hold Durham scoreless over the last 2.2 scoreless innings as relief pitchers.

Carlos Rodriguez brought some life into the eighth round, doubled and got Freddy Zamora to score Nashville’s third run due to a throwing error on the play. Wes Clarke remained on base in the ninth inning after a leadoff single, as Durham relief pitcher Hunter Bigge eliminated the team with strikeouts and thus secured the victory.

The Sounds will try to draw level in tomorrow’s game. Chad Patrick (11-1, 2.83) is celebrating his 26th career win.th birthday by getting the starting spot. He will face left-hander Joe Rock (4-6, 4.78) at 5:35 p.m. in the Tar Heel State.

Notes after the game

  • Patrick Dorrian hit his second home run of the season. Since July 10, Dorrian has a batting average of .286 (12-of-42) with seven RBIs and seven runs scored.
  • Rob Zastryzny (0.1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB) threw 14 pitches and six strikes in his third rehab appearance with Nashville. The left-hander has made two MLB rehab appearances since August 9.
  • MLB Pipeline has re-evaluated each team’s top 100 prospects and top 30 prospects. The Sounds have four prospects in Milwaukee’s top 30 – RHP Jacob Misiorowski (No. 3 and No. 66 in baseball), RHP Logan Henderson (No. 10), RHP Craig Yoho (No. 20) and RHP Carlos Rodriguez (No. 21).
