Marshall meeting to discuss plans for Route 910

Ideas and plans for the Route 910 corridor in Marshall will be discussed at a public meeting at 7 p.m. on August 20 at the community center, 525 Pleasant Hill Road.

“This meeting will provide an opportunity for residents to learn the latest and most accurate information about the zoning ordinance update process and to provide their feedback to help shape the zoning ordinance update, particularly as it relates to the 910 corridor,” said Julie Bastianini, township administrator.

The meeting is part of the revision process of the municipality’s ordinance on land use, property division and land development (SALDO).

“Consistent with a key strategy of the comprehensive plan, Marshall Township is undergoing an ordinance update to ensure goals and objectives are reflected in land use policy,” Bastianini said.

The steering committee is comprised of volunteer residents appointed by the Board of Supervisors to advise and provide direction on the ordinance update process. The meeting focuses on land use policy along Route 910.

The goal of these zoning code updates is to provide greater clarity and predictability for developers and property owners and to establish clear guidelines for land use and development in accordance with the comprehensive Marshall Plan 2022.

The regulation was supposed to be updated over a period of 15 months starting in February 2023, but according to Bastianini it is behind schedule.

A Route 910 Stakeholders Meeting was held in the fall of 2023, hosted by the community during the development of the comprehensive plan. Approximately 35 residents attended, including 14 property owners with access to the road. Their primary concerns were traffic, noise and safety.
