Donald Trump freaks out at Truth Social, whose stock price is heading to an all-time low.
Judge Juan Merchan today upheld Trump’s gag order and also refused to recuse himself from Trump’s hush-money case. Trump was found guilty of 34 felonies and faces sentencing next month.
Trump wrote here that he was not allowed to answer reporters’ questions. That’s not true. Just not in relation to the hush money case: “Judge Merchan just ruled that I, the Republican presidential candidate leading in the polls, am still under a news blackout on very important matters that need to be brought to light. I am not allowed to answer reporters’ questions. Can you believe that? The New York courts are refusing to intervene. This is happening just before the election begins on September 6th. Voter suppression and manipulation. Voter interference. This is the real fascist “stuff,” the old Soviet Union! There is so much to say and I am not allowed to say it. I have to take the US Supreme Court to the floor. New York is trying to steal the election!”
Merchan declined to withdraw from the case, saying Trump’s demand was a rehash “full of inaccuracies and unsubstantiated allegations” regarding the judge’s daughter and his ability to be objective.
