Does the color of your SUV say something about you? A new TikTok trend says so. Make way, horoscopes – moms are posting videos on the social media site saying what their moms’ SUV colors say about their personalities. So, SUV moms? What color are You?
According to some of the most widely shared videos on the subject, a mother who drives a white SUV is most likely a “clean” mom who shops at Target and has her favorite drink at Starbucks. On the other hand, a mother who drives a black SUV is more likely to be a “hot messy” mom who stops at the Dunkin’ drive-thru when she’s already late to take her kids to school.
However, some TikTok creators are now pointing out that there are many other SUV colors out there – suggesting many other types of moms.
TikTok mom @nicole_obc_rn drives a gray SUV, and her now-viral video explores what that means.
“Apparently, if you’re a mom who drives a white SUV, you’re the ‘Target mom’ and the ‘Starbies mom.’ And if you drive a black SUV, you’re the ‘Walmart mom’ and the ‘Dunkin’ mom,'” she says. “I’m neither… You’ve left out a whole subculture of moms: the moms with gray SUVs.”
She continues, “We’re the ones who f*ck around and find mommy. We’re the ones who say, ‘Our window tint is so dark you can’t see in because we don’t want you to.'”
And moms in gray SUVs don’t care where their coffee comes from, as long as the caffeine content is high, Nicole says. In fact, they might just reach for those crazy sodas from Panera.
Gray SUV moms have become a big trend on TikTok, seemingly inspired by Nicole’s video. Another mom, @sj_golden, added her own version.
“I feel a little nervous, but not quite yet. I’m giving it just enough, I think. That’s the happy medium,” she said.
But what about the other colors?
The comment sections on all of these videos provide some answers.
“Mom with the red SUV here. We bring chaos. (We leave at dawn!),” one person wrote.
“I’m a silver SUV mom… A grey SUV mom with just a little bit of glitter,” added another.
