A UNITED Airlines flight from San Francisco to Rome was diverted for the second day in a row.
Yesterday’s flight to Italy had to land in Edmonton, Canada – over 5,000 miles from its intended destination.
According to NBC affiliate KCRA 3, United Airlines Flight 507 took off from San Francisco around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The company told The US Sun that the flight was diverted to “address a passenger’s medical issue.”
According to flight tracking information, the plane turned around while over a northern Canadian province near Hudson Bay.
There were 265 passengers and 14 crew members on board the flight, the airline said.

This happened just one day after another United Airlines plane with the same flight number had to make an emergency landing on Tuesday.
The plane landed in Sacramento to repair a mechanical problem.
The flights on Tuesday and Wednesday were operated with different aircraft, but in both cases they were Boeing 777 jets.
It is still unclear whether passengers on Tuesday’s flight to Rome were also on yesterday’s diverted flight.
NBC affiliate KCRA 3 has reached out to the airline for more information on the events.
Flight disruptions
This is not the first time that United Airlines has experienced flight problems.
A flight from Miami (Florida) to Newark (New Jersey) had to land early in Orlando in July due to a particularly disruptive passenger.
Due to her aggressive behavior, flight attendants had to tie up the hostile woman with cable ties.
She then bit a guard on the shoulder, tearing the fabric of his uniform.
Another United Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing at an airport in northern New York State in March after extreme turbulence.
According to reports, 22 people were injured in the incident and seven were hospitalized.
Recent plane crashes
This bumpy landing is not the only disturbing aircraft incident in recent weeks
- A plane crash at Sundance Airport in Oklahoma City earlier this month killed all four people on board.
- Shocking footage shows a passenger plane crashing in Brazil, killing 61 people on board
- Recently, a plane crashed into a golf course and pro shop, narrowly missing a nearby golfer.
According to reports, the plane encountered strong winds while approaching Newark Liberty International Airport and was forced to abort the landing.
Another United Airlines flight had to change its route in April after a dog had an unfortunate defecation incident in the aisle.
The flight from Houston, Texas to Seattle, Washington landed early in Dallas.
On Reddit, passengers complained about the unpleasant smell.
“The dog had a terrible accident right in the first class aisle,” one person said.
“Ground staff spent over two hours cleaning carpets with paper towels.”
“The smell made me sick. The gate agents were constantly yelling at the passengers and cabin crew,” they wrote.
