New York Comic Con is the largest comic book convention in North America. It’s where all the major creators, publishers, and retailers come together to meet their fans. But it’s also an opportunity for these individuals and companies to meet each other. As a follow-up to ReedPop’s first Industry Summit at NYCC 2023, the convention will expand with NYCC’s first Wednesday event program.
Yes, Wednesday.
On what is known as “Retailer Day,” New York Comic Con 2024 will open its doors to comic book retailers and event sponsors on Wednesday, October 16, for a full day of programming, meetings, and more about the comic book industry. NYCC 2024 Retailer Day will take place on Wednesday, October 16, from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. as a closed event for anyone with a pro badge in the comic book industry, as well as those presenting at the event.
Retailer Day at NYCC 2024 will include programming from comics retail organization ComicsPRO, comics direct-to-consumer Lunar Distribution, comics company Tiny Onion, recently founded by James Tynion IV, and more. Panels and interactive programs are expected to include topics such as:
- Get your store in the news: PR basics
- Benefits of collaborating with other retailers/Introduction to ComicsPro
- Collaboration with schools and libraries
- Speed Networking with Comic Dealers
Retailers can look forward to private book signings with key authors as well as exclusive comics for attending NYCC 2024 Retailer Day, including an event-exclusive special edition of The Department of Truth #25 with a new cover illustrated by Rosemary Valero-O’Connell. Additional exclusives will be announced leading up to the event.
Comics industry programming continues Thursday with the second annual NYCC Industry Summit, sponsored by Comic Sketch Art. This event runs from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and includes several speakers, an industry mixer, and free merchandise from Tiny Onion.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of professional programming that will take place during New York Comic Con 2024, as ReedPop has partnered with the New York Public Library, Lit-X, the National Academy of Continuing Legal Education, and more for events to be announced.
