A fully booked flight was delayed for an hour because a stubborn fashionista refused to stow her Louis Vuitton handbag under the seat in economy class

A handbag is not just an accessory, it is a woman’s faithful companion. However, in the case of a Chinese woman, her expensive Louis Vuitton handbag caused a one-hour delay in departure and caused chaos at Chongqing Airport in China. The passenger, who preferred to place her designer handbag on a pedestal, refused to follow protocol and place her precious LV handbag under the seat in front of her. The stubborn fashionista stood her ground and insisted on placing her favorite piece on the seat next to her instead of at her feet, causing the August 10 flight, which was ready for departure, to have to return to the gate.

Their behavior led to the flight being delayed.

After a long argument with the flight attendant and the flight crew giving up, the police had to intervene. The passengers were relieved when the police escorted the fashion-obsessed woman off the plane with her beloved Louis Vuitton in tow. These shenanigans caused a one-hour delay and disrupted the departure times of subsequent flights. The incident, which went viral on social media platforms, sparked a debate about man’s priorities when it comes to his valuables.

An LV handbag costs nearly $3,000 in China, while an economy class ticket to fly from Chongqing to northern China’s Hebei province would have cost significantly less at $110. Still, such behavior, which prioritizes possessions over protocol, is unjustified, no matter how expensive they may be. SCMP shared netizens’ reactions, with one person commenting on Weibo, “She valued the bag more than her life.” Another user on Douyin wrote, “The flight attendant could have offered her a bag to put her handbag in. Is it really necessary to waste an hour and throw her off the plane?”
