The court has sided with the Tyrese Gibson twice in his restraining order drama; the second decision, however, was his ex-wife’s fault.
The “Fast & Furious” star has been involved in an ugly legal battle with his ex-wife for months, Norma MitchellHowever, her plans to stop him with a temporary injunction failed because she did not appear in court.
Tyrese Gibson sparked the legal drama in April with scathing allegations against his ex-wife. She countered with a defamation suit, followed by a restraining order, claiming he exploited his popularity to defame her.

Norma Mitchell suffers second defeat in legal battle with Tyrese Gibson
According to new reports, a judge denied Norma’s request for a temporary restraining order against Tyrese at a hearing on Monday, August 12. There was no response from the actor’s ex-wife at the hearing in Los Angeles.
Tyrese’s attorney reportedly attended the hearing; however, Norma did not appear. It was unclear if she was represented by an attorney, but In Touch noted that the judge considered her failure to appear as grounds to dismiss the case.
This was the second time the court denied Norma’s motion. Her original motion for a temporary restraining order was denied. The most recent hearing in August was to decide on a permanent protective order. Norma also denied that hearing because she failed to show up.

Norma’s application for a preliminary injunction
Norma’s restraining order case began in May, and The Blast obtained legal documents showing that she criticized Tyrese for his smear campaign. She accused her ex of repeatedly criticizing her on social media over their legal battles.
The aggrieved ex-wife named five dates, “April 30, May 1, May 2, May 6, and May 7,” stressing that her daughter, friends, family, and millions of others were privy to sensitive and false information. Her accusations continued with claims of emotional harm.
Norma said Tyrese’s “public cyber harassment campaign” on his Instagram page and other social media has caused her emotional harm. She claimed her daughter Shayla was similarly disturbed by his actions and has begged the court to intervene.

“Please order Tyrese to stop and delete his offensive posts and our private information,” Norma asked. She also wanted her ex to stop making derogatory comments about her and stay away from her daughter.

Tyrese’s ex-wife had several demands
In addition to forbidding Tyrese from approaching her and her daughter, Norma also begged the court to compel him to pay for her therapy. She wanted $22,280, which covered 104 weeks of therapy sessions, and $12,480 for other treatments.
She asked the court to stop her ex-husband from making their custody battles public on Instagram and the parenting app Our Family Wizard. Norma also asked for his Google Drive file to be removed.
Tyrese shared a link to the file in his Instagram bio, which directed his followers to a copy of the lawsuit he filed against Norma in April. She first highlighted the existence of the file in her defamation lawsuit, claiming:

“The 176-page application contains Mitchell’s private and confidential information, including her daughter’s full name, the name of her high school, her date of birth and her address.”
Tyrese claimed he was “still living in fear” of his ex-wife
Norma’s request for a restraining order followed Tyrese’s emotional outpouring on Instagram. The Blast reported that he shared a sad video of himself close to tears, along with a lengthy message.
“I’m in a dark place and I hope and pray (praying hands emoji) that I don’t stay in this place long,” Tyrese lamented in the video’s overlay text. In the post’s caption, he explained why he looked depressed, writing:
“To name a few… I still live in fear of my ex (Norma) and what vile shit she will say or accuse me of in response to my 167 pages that I submitted to the court (link in bio).”

Tyrese Gibson criticized Norma Mitchell in a heated post
The drama between Tyrese and Norma began in April when he shared the link to a motion he filed against her. In the caption, he also insisted on his ex-wife’s alleged toxicity, claiming, “Everything in these court documents has real receipts attached.”
The TV star accused Norma of several crimes, including “extortion, coercion, slander, death threats, tax evasion” and multiple counts of forgery. He also stressed that the days of suffering in silence and fear are over.
The denial of Norma Mitchell’s request for a temporary restraining order must have brought a smug smile to Tyrese Gibson’s face, but he has yet to react to his small victory.
