Resolution Games’ mixed reality shooter Spatial Ops can be pre-ordered

Resolution Games, the game studio behind virtual reality and mixed reality hits like Demeo, has announced that its mixed reality game Spatial Ops is available for pre-order.

The game, which will have a single-player campaign, is set to launch later this year as a mixed reality (MR) experience. You can pre-order it today with a 25% pre-order discount on the $20 price tag from the Meta Horizon store.

“This game is about capturing the magic of everything mixed reality has to offer – including merging the game with the player’s real world without creating a clear separation between the two,” said Tommy Palm, CEO of Resolution Games, in a statement. “Spatial Ops pits agents against enemies in Arena mode that emerge from behind a wall and hide behind their own furniture in their real space as bullets smash into the walls and grenades ricochet off their real furniture – it’s an overwhelming experience unlike anything else.”

Palm added: “And now we’re excited to announce that in addition to the Arena version for a larger group of friends, players can also play a single-player campaign mode for agents for the ultimate mixed reality experience alone as portals to other dimensions emerge around them.”

At launch, the game will have an Arena mode where you compete with and against friends or bots in a multiplayer battle mode where no one is safe. You can create an entire floor plan for a laser tag-like game. You can play together 1v1 to 4v4 in different game modes such as Free for All, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and Domination.

There will also be a single-player campaign mode where you can learn the full story behind the war. It’s a two-hour single-player experience set in a setting inspired by 80’s action/sci-fi movies. You take on the role of an agent across seven hand-crafted levels with a fully told story as portals appear from every angle around you. Develop as a character by unlocking and upgrading your weapons as you set out to save the world.
