Lively, 36, and co-star Justin Baldoni had “creative differences” behind the scenes during the filming of the movie based on Colleen Hoovers book of the same name from 2016.

Emmy-winning reporter from Chicago Jake Hamilton sat down with Lively and co-star Brandon Sklenar Beginning of the month.

Fans have shared the clip from the interview several times on TikTok, confused and slightly appalled by Lively’s response. Hamilton has since spoken out about the now-viral moment, clarifying that there was more to the reaction.

“After making those comments to my original question, she answered the question,” Hamilton clarified in a news broadcast on August 14. “That part isn’t necessarily going to end up in anyone’s viral TikTok videos, but it does lead to a larger discussion about an actor championing a film about such a serious subject. It’s something that needs to be talked about.”

After Hamilton’s interview clip went viral, Norwegian journalist Kjersti Flaa posted a YouTube video titled “The Blake Lively Interview That Made Me Want to Quit My Job.”

The interview was recorded in 2016 and was linked to the release of Cafe Society. Lively — alongside Parker Posey – caused a stir with her apparently dismissive attitude after Flaa congratulated the actress on her “little bump.” (Lively was pregnant with her daughter Inez at the time.)

Justin Baldoni seems to have nothing but positive things to say about his It Ends with Us co-star Blake Lively, as reports of an on-set feud continue to circulate online.
