Lively, 36, and co-star Justin Baldoni had “creative differences” behind the scenes during the filming of the movie based on Colleen Hoovers book of the same name from 2016.

Emmy-winning reporter from Chicago Jake Hamilton sat down with Lively and co-star Brandon Sklenar Beginning of the month.
“If someone understands the themes of this film and comes across you in public and really wants to talk to you, what’s the best way for them to talk to you about it? How would you recommend they go about it?” Hamilton asked Lively, referring to her character Lily’s abusive relationship with Ryle (Baldoni). The actress’s apparent reaction has caused a stir.
“Maybe you’re asking for my address or my phone number. Or location sharing?! I could just share your location and then we could…” she replied, trailing off. Fans have shared the clip from the interview several times on TikTok, confused and slightly appalled by Lively’s response. Hamilton has since spoken out about the now-viral moment, clarifying that there was more to the reaction.
“After making those comments to my original question, she answered the question,” Hamilton clarified in a news broadcast on August 14. “That part isn’t necessarily going to end up in anyone’s viral TikTok videos, but it does lead to a larger discussion about an actor championing a film about such a serious subject. It’s something that needs to be talked about.”

After Hamilton’s interview clip went viral, Norwegian journalist Kjersti Flaa posted a YouTube video titled “The Blake Lively Interview That Made Me Want to Quit My Job.”
The interview was recorded in 2016 and was linked to the release of Cafe Society. Lively — alongside Parker Posey – caused a stir with her apparently dismissive attitude after Flaa congratulated the actress on her “little bump.” (Lively was pregnant with her daughter Inez at the time.)

Lively replied, “Congratulations on your little belly.” And the situation escalated further when Flaa asked about the film’s costumes.
“Everyone wants to talk about the clothes, but I wonder if they would ask the men about the clothes,” Lively said in conversation with Posey. “It’s not just the women who have the clothes, but I feel like the women are leading the conversation.”
Flaa responded in an interview with Daily Mailand recalled being “almost paralyzed” by the comment, as she herself struggles with infertility. “For me, that comment was like a bullet,” she added.

Lively also received criticism for focusing on the floral aspect It ends with us (her character is a florist) instead of sharing resources for victims of domestic violence. One TikTok in particular, shared to the It ends with us page, is making its rounds and has become a viral sound.
“It ends with us is in theaters now. Grab your friends, put on your floral dresses and go out and see it,” she announced.
Lively has since posted resources for victims of domestic violence several times via her Instagram stories.
