Culver’s plans fundraisers to benefit North Dakota/Minnesota Veterans Honor Flight – Grand Forks Herald

GRAND FORKS – Fundraisers in support of the North Dakota/Minnesota Veterans Honor Flight are planned next week at Culver’s Restaurant on Tuesday, August 20th and Friday, August 23rd from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

A portion of Culver’s proceeds during this time will be donated to provide area veterans with a three-day, all-expenses-paid trip to visit war memorials, other historical landmarks and military sites in Washington, DC.

Hats and other items will be for sale on a display table at Culver’s, along with tickets for a quilt raffle, said Don Roberts of Grand Forks, who is leading Honor Flight’s local fundraiser. Raffle tickets cost $10 each.

The quilt being raffled off is 66 by 88 inches and is one of about seven quilts donated by Sandi Brant’l of Warroad, Minnesota, said Roberts’ wife, Betty Roberts. The next quilt being raffled off is king size, which is 72 by 110 inches.

“It was very kind and generous of her” to make this donation, Betty Roberts said. “And there is more planned.”
