“Die With a Smile” singer Bruno Mars knows why many people of color do not recognize his origins

Bruno Mars’ rise to fame was nothing short of phenomenal. Versace on the floor The singer has proven his pedigree over the years and made a name for himself with his outstanding vocals and a performance that sets him apart from the current crop.

But that’s not the only thing that sets him apart from others. Shockingly, the singer discovered early in his life that his ethnicity bewitched many people around him, as no one was able to decide whether he was black or white.

Bruno Mars was already an artist as a child. Videos of him imitating Elvis Presley went viral. You could say he was a born star. But that wasn’t the only thing that was striking about the 38-year-old’s childhood. What fascinated many of his fellow Hawaiians was his ethnicity.

The Die with a smile The singer’s mysterious origins stem from his heritage – his mother is from the Philippines, while his father is half Puerto Rican and half Ashkenazi Jewish. The result? Not many could identify his ethnicity, leading to accusations of cultural appropriation.

The Just the way you are The singer remembers that he always stood out because of his ethnicity. He told Latina Magazine,

“When I was growing up in Hawaii, there weren’t many Puerto Ricans there. Because of my hair, they thought I was black and white. I hope that people with dark skin can look at me and know that I’ve been through everything they’re going through.”

He deeply regretted this. Many would even accuse him of resorting to cultural appropriation in order to gain sympathy, an allegation that he vehemently rejected. During a conversation on The Breakfast Club, The singer said:

“You won’t find an interview where I don’t talk about the entertainers who came before me.”

He wants people of color to understand that he is, after all, one of them. Mars would attribute all his success to stars like James Brown, Prince, Bobby Brown and Michael Jackson, that his music “comes from love.” And he is not entirely wrong, because his latest song with Lady Gaga, Die with a smile, receives a lot of love from the fans.

The A star is born Star and Locked out of heaven Singers have joined forces to offer fans the ultimate connection this summer (and probably compete with the crossover in Deadpool and Wolverine) with their latest, Die with a smile. The video for the song takes the two back to the 70s in light blue suits and red shirts.

The idea to create the song came about as a result of Lady Gaga visiting Mars’ studio and their strong belief in working together. Whatever the inspiration, it worked beautifully and fans are excited about a song that screams Bruno Mars’ name. It is no coincidence that even Lady Gaga claims that the Runaway Baby The singer’s skills are out of this world.

And Mars was equally in awe of the Paparazzi Singer. Class recognizes class.
