Kristin Juszczyk criticizes Fox News for headline about Kamala Harris’ jacket

Designer Kristin Juszczyk, wife of San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk, criticized Fox News for a “loaded headline” on an article about Vice President Kamala Harris’ jacket order.

Kristin Juszczyk, the wife of San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk, criticized Fox News for a headline saying she “rejected” Vice President Kamala Harris’ request for one of her viral custom jackets over the weekend of the 58th Super Bowl.

The fashion designer addressed the “misleading headline” in an Instagram story.

“That’s a totally loaded headline,” Juszczyk said. “If you read the article, I’m saying that I didn’t have any help last year and therefore couldn’t fulfill a last-minute request.”

In her article, Juszczyk also said she found it “hilarious” how media outlets publish certain headlines to “push their own agenda.”

“Please don’t just read headlines,” the Instagram story said.

What did Kristin Juszczyk tell Fox News?

In the Fox News article, Juszczyk said she received the request from Harris, an avid 49ers fan, at a terrible time.

“During the Super Bowl, I got a text from my agent, and that’s when everything went crazy. He was like, ‘Hey, the vice president wants a jacket.’ I was like, ‘What company?’ He was like, ‘The country,'” she told the outlet.

Juszczyk further explained that she did not have the bandwidth to make a jacket for Harris that had gone viral after being worn by singer Taylor Swift, Olympian Simone Biles and actor Taylor Lautner.

“Unfortunately, I didn’t have any help at the time and I didn’t have any opportunity to do more things,” she said, according to Fox News. “There just wasn’t time. But that’s always a funny story that has stuck with me. I thought, ‘This is going to be crazy. I got a request from the White House.'”

“Last year I finally took the leap into the unknown”

The virality of the jackets came as a shock to Juszczyk, who said she had “never made anything for anyone else.”

“I was always hesitant because I’m a perfectionist at heart and if I left it to someone else it would take it to a whole new level. I’m not a professional at all, I’m completely self-taught,” she told Fox News.

“But last year I finally took the leap into the unknown and it was so much fun. I learn something new every day. I love challenges. I love taking on new things in life and learning. That’s something I will always learn, no matter how long I do it.”

Fox News did not change the headline of the article as of Friday.
