Weird news: Bear gets cool hotel reception, parrot boards train, puppy thief plays cute fun

The man, surnamed Zhang, was sleeping during his night shift at the reception of a hotel in Tibet when a large brown bear broke in and started searching for food.

Zhang was awakened by the bear when it came behind the reception desk and stood next to his bed.

Instead of panicking, he waited until the bear was busy tearing open a carton of soft drinks and walked away, even grabbing his phone on the way out.

Police said they had received reports of a bear in the area, but fortunately no one was injured.

Zhang’s reaction was correct, because experts say it is advisable not to surprise or upset bears.

Zhang told Zhengguan News that he was simply shocked and did not know how to react.

Bird migration

According to police, the parrot managed to board one of Japan’s high-speed trains without help. Photo: X/@Stroly_Map

A Japanese woman from Kyoto who uses the name Sally posted on X on August 5 that she was looking for her missing parrot.

She said her family accidentally left a window in the house open after releasing the parrot from its cage and it flew out.

Sally’s first search in the immediate area was unsuccessful. Then the story of the missing bird became strange.

It turned out that the parrot had traveled to Tokyo alone on the Shinkansen bullet train.

An X-user @Stroly_Map commented on her post two days later that a cute parrot filmed traveling alone by train from Kyoto to Tokyo matched the description of Sally’s pet.

The parrot seemed comfortable in the presence of strangers and even jumped onto the train conductor’s shoulder while he went about his work.

Sally contacted the Tokyo police and was told that her bird was safe and happy with them.

Of course, on August 8, she took the high-speed train to pick him up.
