Get a restful sleep with a view at the Innovation City Hotel in Tokyo

Hotel Kiosk

As technology advances, it also becomes easier to complete tasks that can sometimes be intimidating or complicated. One such task is checking into a hotel abroad, but a hotel in Innovation City next to Haneda Airport aims to make this easier.

The reception at Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Haneda is unmanned, allowing guests to easily check in in their preferred language at convenient kiosks at the entrance.

Guests can choose from 13 different room types, from standard rooms to suites, which cost between 16,150 and 55,250 yen ($180.30 – $370.51). The hotel’s junior suite offers a unique view of Haneda Airport’s airfield, so you can watch the planes flying in and out from the comfort of your room. Don’t worry, you’ll still sleep soundly thanks to the soundproofing.

The hotel also has smoking rooms, a restaurant, a small gym and a rooftop observation lounge with a 360-degree panoramic view of the city. During my visit, the skies were clear so I could see Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Disneyland and Mount Fuji. There are chairs for relaxing and watching the planes landing and taking off nearby.

While staying here can be a bit pricey, its proximity to the airport makes it a great option if you need to catch an early flight or arrive late and are ready to go to bed. And since it’s located in Innovation City, you’ll also have access to some great food and shopping options, robots included.
