The third season of the series is over, with the crew enjoying their summer vacation. Jabari Banks plays Will in a dramatic reinterpretation of the original sitcom.
The rest of the cast includes Olly Sholotan as Carlton Banks, Coco Jones as Hillary Banks, Akira Akbar as Ashley Banks and Jimmy Akingbola as Geoffrey, the Banks family butler.
Adrian Holmes and Cassandra Freeman play Uncle Phil and Aunt Viv. April Parker Jones plays Will’s mother (Aunt Viv’s sister) Viola “Vy” Smith. Karrueche Tran is a returning cast member.
This season, Marlon Wayans returns to his role as Will’s father Lou. Previous guest stars have included Michael Ealy, Saweetie and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Former cast members Daphne Maxwell Reid and Tatiana Ali, Robert Glasper and Terrace Martin composed the music for the first two seasons of the show.
Bel Air is based on a fan-made dramatic reinterpretation of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Short film by young filmmaker Morgan Williams. After the clip went viral, Smith contacted Williams to discuss developing a series. Bel Air was later acquired by Peacock and named the platform’s most streamed original series in 2022. Williams is executive producer of Bel Air and directed an episode of the new season.
Like the original, Bel Air The story centers on a teenager from West Philadelphia whose mother sends him to live with his aunt and uncle in the chic Los Angeles suburb of Bel-Air (California).
