Emirates prevents ALL passengers from checking in for connecting flights to Dubai due to severe flooding

Emirates has announced that check-in for all flights connecting in Dubai will be suspended until midnight today. The reason for this is that the United Arab Emirates was hit by heavy rain and thunderstorms this week, which led to severe flooding, including at the airport.

The airline said that customers with connecting flights in Dubai will only be accepted “at their point of departure” if their flight departs after 23:59 (GMT) today (Friday, April 19). Emirates added that passengers who are already in Dubai and in transit will be accepted on its flights.

It added that passengers with Dubai as their final destination can check in and travel as usual, but cautioned that delays to departures and arrivals should be expected. Passengers were advised to check the airline’s website for the latest information.
