Estée Lauder CEO announces resignation

Fashion Scholarship Fund Appoints Head of Virgil Abloh ‘Post-Modern’ Scholarship Fund
Farai Simoyi was appointed head of the Virgil Abloh “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund and Equity on August 19. WWD reported. She will oversee the scholarship program and its expansion, as well as lead pilot programs to promote Black talent in the industry, working with Shannon Abloh and Peter Arnold. Ted Baker closes last store
The remaining 31 Ted Baker stores are set to close their doors by the end of the day on Tuesday, August 20, according to the BBC, putting 500 jobs at risk. No Ordinary Designer Label, which owns the brand, filed for bankruptcy in March; sales were already falling after allegations of inappropriate behavior were made against founder Rey Kelvin in 2019. It is unclear whether US-based Authentic Brands Group, which owns Ted Baker’s intellectual property, will revive the brand. {BBC}
