Ice cream recall: FDA sets “second highest risk level” for these 13 contaminated products

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration classified 13 recalled Dolcezza ice cream products as having the second highest risk due to listeria contamination.

Maryland-based food manufacturer Totally Cool, Inc. announced in June a recall of several ice cream products due to possible contamination.

The problem was discovered when the FDA conducted tests on the products.

However, this classification affects 13 products of the Dolcezza brand.

The following 13 Dolcezza brand products were affected by this updated recall:

  • 16 fl oz Mascarpone and Berry Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz pints of ice cream with roasted strawberries
  • 16 fl oz vanilla ice cream pints
  • 16 fl oz Peanut Butter Mash and Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz Dulce de Leche & Cookies Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz Stracciatella Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz Peanut Stracciatella Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz Swiss Chocolate Ice Cream
  • 16 fl oz Coffee and Cookie Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz pints of hot chocolate and ice cream
  • 16 fl oz ice cream pints with sugar cookie dough
  • 16 fl oz pints dark chocolate ice cream
  • 16 fl oz pints of dark chocolate fudge ice cream

These products were distributed nationwide and sold in retail stores and online.
