Pinterest predicts these will be the biggest trends in fall 2024

Fall seems like the right time to reinvent yourself, and Pinterest predicts that fall 2024 trends will reflect that. Instead of settling in with old classics like latte nails and pumpkin spice perfumes, people are making dynamic, fresh beauty choices from bold hair colors to detailed manicures. Here, we analyze Pinterest’s fall 2024 trend report. We had fun checking off the trends we want to try and making note of the ones we might steer clear of.

Nail art

Nail art has taken on a life of its own online. Neutral nails are just not the way to go for top trend makers anymore as everyone is opting for bold designs. Manicures are influenced by cultures from all over the world. Japanese-inspired nails have seen an increase of over 600 percent and Greek goddess nails have seen an increase of 1,975 percent.

All things flirty and understated have seen a huge resurgence—remember when practically everything had a bow? This trend is set to continue into fall, with bow nail designs seeing a 2,200 percent increase in interest. But it’s not just about cute and dainty designs—short, funky nails are booming too, with an increase of over 1,540 percent.

Big Bang Theory

Bangs have shown some staying power over the past few years. Now that people are comfortable with bangs like curtain bangs and subtle bangs (which aren’t going away despite a 1,900 percent increase in searches), they’re ready to try some more eye-catching styles. Long pixie cuts with bangs and mini bangs are on the rise, but the most notable new trend is Japanese side bangs. And while we thought we’d heard the last of them, there’s a renewed interest in 2000s-style side bangs.

Red and honey tones

The most impressive increase in interest on the list was for honey brown locks, with a 7,770 percent increase. Likewise, honey brown knotless braids saw a 3,845 percent increase, so get ready to see this color a lot in the fall. Red hair has been steadily climbing the trend charts and this fall the shade will be all the rage, with cherry blonde, deep cherry red and cherry cola all seeing a peak in interest.

Makeup moves

Interest in soft baddie makeup has increased by 700 percent, which is understandable since it’s essentially a mix of the two biggest trends right now – brat and humble. Cool makeup looks are already everywhere and Pinterest is predicting they’ll be unstoppable next season. Classics like glowy, dewy makeup and glossy lip makeup are also seeing a steady resurgence. Last but not least, we’re sad to report that concealer lips could be making a comeback with a 92 percent increase in interest, according to Pinterest.
