A group of angry customers confronted the staff of a popular Korean cafe over its “one order per person” policy.

Footage from JTBC television’s news program “Crime Chief” shows five people – claimed by a cafe employee to be Chinese tourists – deliberately spilling drinks on a sofa and a table and making offensive gestures toward a manager who had complained about their misconduct.

Before the events in the film, the group had ordered two drinks and a dessert to go, but then began eating their food on site, according to the employee, which violates the cafe’s policy that requires all patrons to order at least one drink. The manager asked the tourists to order three more drinks, but the customers refused to comply, according to the source.

After a lengthy argument, the customers eventually asked the manager to repackage their take-out dessert, apparently in an attempt to de-escalate the situation. However, once they had left, the manager realized that they had intentionally spilled their drinks on the furniture and walked out to make further complaints, which were met with an obscene gesture.

“I only found out about this situation later,” said the café owner. “I am outraged that such reckless behavior is even possible.”
