SANTA ANA, Calif. – Designers including Behr Paint Company are already looking at color trends for interior design and home renovation in 2025.
The Behr Paint Company announced its choice for Color of the Year 2025 on August 21.
Behr chose “Rumors,” a deep ruby red, as the color for 2025.
The color is part of the company’s trend palette for next year, where the brand expects warm tones and cooler shades to be popular.
Behr’s 2024 color of the year was “Cracked Pepper,” a versatile “soft black,” the company said in its online description. This year’s trend palette included “bold tones and bright neutrals to grounded hues and eye-catching accents.”
According to a press release from Behr, “more than three-quarters (76%) of Americans would consider painting a room or wall a shade of red,” while “about three-quarters (73%) believe that using the color red can add depth and character to living spaces, and more than half (61%) agree that bold red walls have a warm and engaging effect.”
The brand explained online that the color adds warmth and elegance to the interior and exterior of a home and can make a dynamic statement.
“A dynamic shade for any project, this ruby red is the perfect shade to make a statement and get you painting with color. Let this luxurious color speak volumes, no matter the style, space or size of your project. Rumors will create an energy that allows you to express your confidence with color – adding a touch of luxury to any living space,” the company said.
Behr Paint Company paints are sold exclusively at Home Depot.
