Eutelsat and Cable Color expand partnership for video transmission in Latin America

The Eutelsat Group and Honduras-based Cable Color have signed a new multi-year agreement to extend capacity for video transmission services over Central America on Eutelsat’s EUTELSAT 117 West A satellite.

Cable Color, a cable operator in the region, is a long-standing Eutelsat customer and this new agreement underlines its continued confidence in the quality of broadcasting services provided.

The 117° West location is the premium TV region for Latin America, offering pan-regional distribution of the most important networks and content providers. 300 TV channels, 50 of which are in HD, are currently broadcast to around 110 million TV households, and strong cable headend penetration includes over 1900 cable headends in Latin America and the Caribbean. 117° West is also a growing free-to-air TV region with 100 TV channels broadcasting unencrypted, including channels from major regional public and private broadcasters.
