Good morning, Mets fans!

The New York Mets needed a strong start to their crucial 10-game road trip that began Thursday night, and that’s exactly what they did against the San Diego Padres. They beat San Diego (3 games back) and Arizona (3.5 games back) to gain ground on the top two Wild Card spots, as they had the day off. The Braves beat the Phillies 3-2, putting the Mets 1.5 games back of the third WC spot.
