Omaha Storm Chasers use five runs in the sixth inning to defeat Buffalo

BUFFALO, NY — Omaha ended a scoring drought with a five-run fifth inning and the Storm Chasers earned a 5-2 victory over Buffalo on Friday night.

Omaha had gone 18 straight innings without scoring before the first five Chasers got hits in the sixth inning. The comeback was capped with two hits and two outs as Ryan Fitzgerald hit an RBI single and Cam Devanney hit a two-run double.

Chandler Champlain avoided the trouble and went six innings for the win, allowing one run on eight hits. Evan Sisk made his eighth save since mid-July.

Former Creighton star Alan Roden had four hits and two RBIs for Buffalo (57-66).

Omaha and Buffalo continue their series on Saturday at 5:35 p.m.
