The best noise-cancelling headphones for airplanes: How to survive a flight

Noise cancellation: 9/10

Comfort rating: 10/10

How long did the headphone battery last? The battery life of these headphones is impressive. During an eight-hour flight, I had no issues with the battery. However, I did notice that sometimes the headphones did not turn off automatically when not in use, which made me worry about battery drain and the need for frequent charging. Compared to my other Bose headphones (Bose QuietComfort Headphones), the ability to manually turn these headphones off was a huge relief.

How long did it take to charge the battery? Less than an hour.

The best feature of the headphones for on the go: The full noise cancellation and Bose Immersive Audio are the best features. During a long flight, this really made a huge difference to my experience. When I fly, I like to sleep and watch movies without hearing the noise around me or feeling like I’m surrounded by people even when the flight is full. The headphones put me in a sort of bubble where it was just me, watching Love is blind: Mexico. Compared to my other headphones, the noise cancellation and sound of Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones is much better than Bose QuietComfort Headphones.

The least travel-friendly feature of the headphones: They don’t always seem to turn off automatically, which is confusing and stressful.

Final thoughts: The Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones offer better noise cancellation and audio quality compared to the Bose QuietComfort headphones. While they are a bit more expensive, they are a worthwhile investment for frequent travelers, those who enjoy long quiet walks while listening to music, or anyone who wants to sleep in a noisy environment.

Personally, I prefer more manual controls for adjusting the volume and turning the headphones on and off, possibly because I’m used to the Bose QuietComfort headphones. I would suggest changing this aspect. I would recommend these headphones for both long-distance travel and everyday use.
