Minnie Mouse is Captain Marvel in new Marvel Comics mashup cover art — GeekTyrant

Marvel Comics has unveiled a new comic book cover featuring Minnie Mouse as Captain Marvel. This is part of a new Marvel and Disney story, What If…? Minnie Would Be Captain Marvel #1.

The new mashup comic comes from authors Steve Behling (Disney Adventures Magazine) and Luca Barbieriwho had previously mixed Donald Duck with Wolverine in his own mashup comic.

Artist Giada Perissinotto, who first reimagined Minnie as Captain Marvel on the Disney100 variant cover of 2023’s Amazing Spider-Man #29, provided pencils and the cover art.

Editor Mark Paniccia said in a statement: “Steve, Luca and Giada perfectly capture the spirit of Carol Danvers’ origins, a real nostalgia treat with a Disney twist. Guaranteed to be the most entertaining comic of the month!”

The one-shot story sees Minnie tackle the mystery of her new cosmic powers as she takes flight as Ms. Marvel and battles Peg Leg Pete as the villainous Scorpion, putting a whole new spin on Ms. Marvel #1 by Conway and artist John Buscema.

What is Minnie Mouse’s secret past? “In our story, The Chronicle newspaper reporter Minnie Mouse is tasked with uncovering a new hero in Duckburg: CAPTAIN MARVEL! But Peg Leg Pete Scorpion thwarts her plans by attacking the Chronicle building!

“To make matters worse, John D. Rockerduck and the Beagle Boys attack Scrooge McDuck’s money vault, and when Captain Marvel shows up to stop them, Minnie discovers an incredible secret about her past! What is the connection between Minnie and Duckburg’s sensational new hero, Captain Marvel?”
