If you are a Zomato user, you can now schedule your food order up to two days in advance. The food delivery platform has launched this feature only in select metros.
“Plan your meals better by ordering up to two days in advance and we deliver on time,” Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal said on X.
However, you can only schedule orders above Rs 1,000. And the feature will initially be available in 13,000 stores across cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Jaipur.
Goyal clarified that these restaurants have always had large quantities of dishes in stock and consistent preparation time in the kitchen.
He assured customers that more restaurants and cities will be added. “We will expand this to all orders soon,” Goyal added.
On August 22, Zomato shut down its delivery service Legends, which allowed customers to order food from 10 cities. Goyal said the service was shut down after two years of trial and error without finding the product-market fit. It was launched in 2022.
Zomato recently entered into an agreement with Paytm to acquire the fintech company’s cinema and event ticketing business for Rs 2,034 crore in cash. Zomato is expected to convert the business into an app called District.
