Sabrina Carpenter shines in a blue set on “The Tonight Show”

As Sabrina Carpenter released her sixth studio album Short and sweet– which premiered on Friday – she seemed to embody the project with outfits similar to the title. At least that was the case on Thursday night, when the singer wore glittery blue micro shorts for a performance at The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

In harmony with her shimmering personal styleCarpenter threw on a baby blue set covered in teal sequins that glittered in the stage lights with her every move. Up top, the pop star wore a long-sleeved cardigan with only the middle buttons done up to create a plunging neckline and expose a bit of her stomach.

Compared to the “Please Please Please” singer’s diminutive stature — “five feet, to be exact,” as she sings on her new album — the slightly oversized shirt would have easily fit like a minidress. In fact, the knit top towered over Carpenter’s matching microshorts, though a pair of towering Tiffany blue platform shoes helped her appear slightly taller.

In terms of glamour, the artist wore her platinum blonde hair in its signature blow-dried style, complete with bouncy curls and voluminous curtain bangs. Her makeup included fluttery false eyelashes, a healthy dose of mauve blush and a reddish-brown lipstick.

While Carpenter’s appearance is certainly Short and sweetthe album name refers to something else – and it has nothing to do with the singer’s “vertically challenged” size, she told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in a current interview“I’ve been thinking about some of those relationships and how some of them were the shortest I’ve ever had and the ones that had the biggest impact on me,” she revealed.
