Starting with this Wednesday’s comics, DC Comics begins advertising Batman: The Barbarian #1 of Greg Smallwood in its pages, as a six-part, bi-monthly Elseworlds comic book starting next month. Although they told retailers this weekend that this comic definitely won’t be coming out in September, October, or November. It will be December at the earliest, and we’ll have to see that next month. And by the looks of things, all orders retailers placed for this comic book have been cancelled and it will have to be reordered.
I recently enjoyed DC Comics’ promotion of their DC Compact Comics line. This one…not so much. “Heroes you know, worlds you don’t know”…you’ll probably see them by 2025. That was the original prompt for the first issue in DC Comics’ September 2024 solicitations and challenges.
