New loft apartments mark the culmination of the revitalization of Judson Mill

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Judson Mill District, which has been renovating the area in and around Greenville’s old textile mill since 2019, announced that its revitalization project will soon be completed. The final phase of construction will convert two historic buildings into loft apartments.

The $60 million renovation will create approximately 15,000 square meters of living space in Jenny and Westervelt, two parts of the old factory that once produced thread and yarn.

The project plans to build a total of 181 loft apartments with floor plans ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments.

“Our goal is to preserve the heritage of these historic buildings while fostering a modern, vibrant community where residents can thrive and socialize,” said Ken Reiter, co-developer of the Judson Mill District and president of Belmont Sayre. “This project represents the culmination of our vision for the Judson Mill District.”

Leasing is scheduled to begin in early 2025 and building authorities expect construction to be completed in the second quarter of next year.

The Judson Mill District has invested more than $100 million to transform the mill into office, restaurant, brewery, retail, residential and entertainment space.
