Games 130 and 131: Blue Jays at Red Sox – Let’s play two (Big Ones)

We have two doubleheaders today: The Blue Jays are playing our boys for two games at Fenway, while the Kansas Royals are in Cleveland to hit a doubleheader against the Guardians. That means that by the end of the day, the Red Sox could either be almost completely out of the postseason race or closer to a wild-card spot than they have been for the past week-plus. Or absolutely nothing of substance will have changed. Baseball!

The Sox face the Blue Jays at 10-2, continuing a game that was halted early in the second inning in June. Nick Pivetta will be on the mound and throw to Danny Jansen, who will make major league history by playing for two different teams in the same game.

First pitch of game two is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. We don’t yet know who will take the ball in this game, which is…not great.

Watch both games on NESN and pray.
