Review: Plaza Premium Lounge + Hotel – Taipei (TPE)

a restaurant with a long table and chairs

I arrived at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) at 6:45 p.m., with a flight leaving the next morning at 7:40 a.m. Instead of going to Taipei, I spent the night in the Plaza Premium Lounge (and hotel…) in Zone A of Terminal 2. It wasn’t luxurious, but it served its purpose well and I was able to get a good rest.

Plaza Premium Lounge + Hotel – Taipei (TPE) Review – Zone A / Terminal 2

You will find the lounge on the 4th floor of the international departures area of Terminal 2, in Zone A.

It’s unbelievable, but masks are still mandatory in the TPE terminal…

I checked in at the lounge and presented my voucher for the overnight stay.

The lounge is open from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., but overnight guests are allowed to stay. This is also a Priority Pass lounge, but Priority Pass guests are only allowed access to the lounge area until three hours before their flight.

Seating

The lounge is divided into a seating and dining area with chairs and side tables (all with USB-A and universal A/C plugs) in the seating area and a dining area with tables and booths.

There are also several closed off “VIP” areas. These are essentially small rooms that can accommodate 4-6 guests and offer more privacy than the general lounge area.

Food + Drink

When I arrived, dinner was still ready and consisted of a mix of Western and East Asian food, including a noodle bar, soy burgers, soups, salads, and even French fries and chicken nuggets. I didn’t eat anything.

Drinks included water, tea, coffee and juice. If alcohol was available, I didn’t see any.

The next morning, breakfast included a fresh salad plate, chicken sausage, ham, and whole fruit. I left the lounge at 5:30 a.m. and nothing else had been brought out.

Hotel – Sleeping area

The lounge has about two dozen dormitories that can be rented by the hour (price varies… see here). It is advisable to reserve in advance.

I was assigned room 15, which contained a single bed, a nightstand, and a low stool to sit on. There was no individual air conditioning in the room, but thankfully the room stayed cool.

Amenities such as shaving kits, ear plugs, shower caps and dental kits were provided along with a single bottle of water (although drinks were available 24 hours a day outside in the lounge).

Toilets + showers

The hotel area has its own shower suites:

In addition, showers and toilets are available for lounge guests:

DIPLOMA

There was nothing particularly remarkable about the lounge, food and drinks, showers and bedroom… but they were extremely useful for my overnight stay in Tapei and I was grateful to have a comfortable bed to sleep in.
