Vice President of Kalamazoo Public Library Board of Directors resigns

KALAMAZOO, MI – Kalamazoo Public Library Board Vice President Linda Mah resigned at a board meeting Monday, August 26.

Linda Mah was a member of the Board of Directors since January 2023 and had a term of office until December 2026.

Farrell Howe, marketing and communications manager for KPL, confirmed Mah’s resignation and said Mah has other professional commitments. Mah is also a communications specialist for Kalamazoo Public Schools.

“We are very grateful for her contributions during her time here on the KPL Board of Trustees,” said Howe.

Mah confirmed that she had resigned from the board for professional reasons.

Howe could not provide a timetable or method for filling the seat.

Of the seven KPL board members, five are up for re-election in November. Mah and Emily Greenman Wright were the only two board members whose terms did not end in the fall.

Four full-term and one part-time Library Board seats are up for election in November. Six candidates have filed for full-term and two for part-time.

The board will have new leadership in 2025 as Mah retires and board chair Christy Roth does not seek re-election.
