All in all, we will see on Wednesday evening 184 delegations: 4,400 Paralympic athletes take part in the parade along the The Champs-Elysées to the stadium at Place de la Concorde.

But in what order will the delegations appear? As with the Olympic Games and to ensure equality among the participating nations, the delegations march in alphabetical order (respecting the spelling of the names in the language of the host country). At the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, it will be Afghanistan that will open the ball.

The French delegation is the last group: the 237 athletes are led by flag bearers Alexis Hanquinquant (Para-Triathlon) and Nantenin Keita (Para-athletics). France France is in last place as host of the Olympic Games, as it was at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games last July. Australia and the United States are also just ahead of France, despite their alphabetical order, as these two countries are the next hosts of the Summer Olympics.

It should be noted that some delegations will not be present at the ceremony. This applies in particular to Russian and Belarusian athletes who compete under a neutral flag and were not invited to participate in the event.
