CSP dog catches suspect after protective order incident in Stafford

STAFFORD, CT – A Massachusetts madman was arrested by a state police dog after fleeing a home in violation of a restraining order, according to a police report.

The incident occurred Aug. 21 on Sunset Ridge Road in Stafford, state police said.

The 37-year-old Monson, MA, man left the house and ran away after realizing state police had been called because he violated a restraining order, according to a police report.

State Trooper Michael Nisbet and dog Apollo were dispatched and after an extensive chase, found the man hiding in an interior attic and in an outbuilding on the property, according to a police report.

According to a police report, the man was charged not only with violating a restraining order, but also with second-degree criminal damage and obstructing police.
