The historic Balch Hotel’s Alfresco Music Series is in full swing – This is Oregon

The Historic Balch Hotel’s popular outdoor concert series has begun, attracting travelers and locals with an eclectic program of live music, warm hospitality, rustic food and mountain views. Held in Dufur, where the canyon meets Oregon’s high desert, performances feature a mix of genres, from folk and indie to Americana and blues.

The series kicked off earlier this month with roots-blues artist Mountain Son, followed by lively Americana from Strangled Darlings, who set the tone for a top-notch mix of touring and regional talent. The series continues this weekend, August 31, with indie-folk artist Lucas Lawson.

The series is a draw for those looking to spend relaxing summer and fall evenings under the wide skies of Oregon’s wheat country. Guests are treated to an idyllic setting for outdoor dining, select beer and wine, and a communal atmosphere. The Balch’s on-site restaurant, Bistro 1907, a founding member of the East Gorge Food Trail, offers a seasonal menu featuring ingredients sourced locally.

With concert dates extending into October, there is still time to catch concerts at the Balch. Shows are complimentary to all guests dining, staying or drinking at the inn. Dining on the patio is by reservation only; guests are encouraged to reserve a table early. Lawn seating is open and welcome in the garden grounds. For those looking to enjoy the last golden days of summer, the Balch Hotel invites you to enjoy live music, historic charm and unforgettable nights in the foothills of Mount Hood.
